To tell you a bit more about Bajah, he is huge pop star in his home country Sierra Leone, known as "the voice of the voiceless" – he raps and sings about peace and reconciliation and speaks for the people's needs, given the harsh civil war that ravaged Sierra Leone for 11 years. A few years ago, he took a break from recording and traveled home to Freetown to be greeted by 30,000 people who showed up at the airport to form a parade "welcome home" for him.  Each Christmas eve he plays a show at the National Soccer Stadium in Freetown for 50,000 people.

Since we've brought Bajah to the U.S. he and his band have garnered the full support of The Roots: He has played The Roots picnic multiple years, they have opened for The Roots dozens of times and have ?uestlove and James Poyser on production for the upcoming album, which also features Talib Kweli, K'naan, Res and the Fyre Dept .

All in all, Bajah and his band- David Bailis, guitar (Pimps Of Joytime, John Forte) Josh Werner, bass (Matisyahu, Lee Scratch Perry) and Ivan Katz, drums (Easy Star Allstars) have made a big splash here in NYC – They headlined at Lincoln Center Out Of Doors, headlined Okayplayer's CMJ showcase and got a FANTASTIC write-up in the Village Voice calling the show "the best CMJ gig”. Bajah has also toured throughout the US supporting acts as diverse as Nneka to Balkan Beat box, he played CARNEGIE HALL for the Tibet House benefit alongside huge names like Iggy Pop, Philip Glass, Patti Smith and Gogol Bordello and got a standing ovation!

And of course, if you come see the live show you'll understand – the live show will sell ANYONE
