Biography

DB3 is the brainchild of NYC guitarist and bassist David Bailis, who after touring internationally with renowned artists (Pimps of Joytime, John Forte, Bajah and the Dry Eye Crew) for many years, started his own trio in 2018. What began as a residency has sparked a creative outlet for Bailis, with the release of his debut album in July of 2018 on Ropeadope and a feature on Spotify's 'State of Jazz' playlist. David Bailis’s skilled guitar/bass playing and diverse sonic background shine through in his live shows with influences ranging from jazz, hiphop, afrobeat, funk and rock. His adventurous compositions and the band’s synergy take listeners on a memorable ride. Bailis’ upcoming trio album is scheduled for release in fall of 2021 featuring special guests and the recent addition of his playing a Hybrid Guitar ‘Big 6’ with 3 bass strings + 3 guitar strings.
