Workout inspiration

I mentioned David Goggins as an inspiration in one of my recent instagram posts. He is truly hardcore.

I started doing a workout that he recommended called nickels and dimes- sets of 5 pull ups and 10 push ups, every minute for 15 minutes minimum. I've been doing about 20 minutes, getting to 100 pull ups and 200 push ups, keeping focused on good form throughout. Working to an hour with no breaks. Here I am today after 5 miles of interval sprints and then nickel and dimes- worked but energized!

Here are some links to what David Goggins is all about:

Lake Tahoe, CA

Lake Tahoe- If you find yourself in the northside of Lake Tahoe in the Crystal Bay area (where we often play shows) I definitely recommend going for a run/walk/hike. It may have been a chilly 25 degrees when I woke up this time but I still got in an awesome 10 mile run at elevation in the beautiful woods and roads around the Lake. There is a public beach close to Crystal Bay, where I often do a workout and go for a swim, the water is SO clear here. Great place to breathe some fresh mountain air and recharge while on the road.

Great place to workout, take a swin, meditate or just hang out!

Mt Tamarack, ID

Mt Tamarack- We played a cool festival up in Northern Idaho at Mt Tamarack. If you find yourself in this area, there is amazing trail from the base (where the main stage is) all the way up to the summit, which is around 8,000 ft elevation- about 3,000 ft elevation climb from the base) I ran the entire trail up and down, which was about 15 miles round trip. It was a great morning workout and a beautiful run. I recommend starting fairly early in the morning as it was nice and cool and as a plus, I hardly saw anyone the whole way up.
