Spokane, WA

Huckleberry’s Natural Market– This place is so awesome!! The juice bar/cafe, which has with organic juices and smoothies is great and has really fair prices. We stop by there every time we roll through Spokane and they never disappoint. You can get 20 ounce all veggie, all organic juices, which is on point! Their selection of soups, salads and prepared foods is extensive as well. There isn’t a salad bar but multiple different salads and prepared dishes in the case. Also big up to the staff, all the people that I have encountered that work there are super nice and helpful. The market had really good prices and solid selection. What more can you ask for in a local market?!

Louisville, KY

Life Bar- This juice bar has incredible options, creative superfood smoothies and awesome vegetable blends (smoothies) and it’s all organic. The only downside is that this comes with a significant price tag. But hey you have to pay for quality, right? I got the It’s Not Easy Being Green, a green veggie smoothie and added the raw vegan protein. It was so good but cost $11.50, so just be ready if/when you come here. Everyone in my crew loved what they ordered, although my friend was priced out on the $10.50 juices and didn’t get anything. Still the array of superfoods and organic smoothie options would keep me coming back here despite the hit to my wallet.

Salt Lake City, UT

PULP– Great juice and smoothie bar in downtown SLC. Prices are awesome (although not organic) I Love the options on the menu. I got a grasshopper smoothie with almond milk and hemp protein, which was a killer post workout drink. Also got a green juice, which was on point. My buddy also got an acai bowl. The only thing about this spot is that it is tricky to find! Kind of a strange location in a gym that’s in a big mall. You have to navigate through this shopping mall and find the correct elevator to the 3rd floor and the finally there is the juice bar located in The Gym. It’s worth the effort though!

WORKOUT- Tennis Round came through for me again in SLC and I found a good teaching pro looking to hit. We found some nice public courts in Liberty park that were empty courts but man, it was windy! Always beautiful to hit in the mountains though!

Worcester, MA

Nu Cafe– Wow this spot is a winner! Nu Cafe giving the people healthy eats in Worcester MA. Really glad we stopped through. They use organic and local ingredients, the juices and smoothies are reasonably priced and they have 24 ounce sizes, which I love. I need my juice! They also have quinoa bowls and burrito bowls that look great.  Also big up for the gluten free vegan muffins! Score in Worcester

Bloomington, IN

The Owlery– There are a surprising amount of veggie options in this little college town in Indiana. We chose the Owlery, as it was right near the club we were playing in downtown Bloomington. The Owlery turned out to be a solid vegetarian restaurant, there slant is ‘vegan comfort food’, which I’m not a fan of but they did have some good lighter dishes on the menu. I went with the Sesame Miso Bowl and side salad. Brown rice, with steamed Kale, Baked seasoned Tofu, golden beets, sunflower seeds and carrot with a Sesame- Miso dressing. While I’m not crazy about tofu in general, the dish was great. The server was super nice and I dug the casual atmosphere with all the Owl themed paintings and doodads. definitely worth a stop, if in Bloomington looking for healthy eats.

Chico, CA

Fresh Twisted Cafe– Solid juice and smoothie spot. Really nice guys that work there. They have lots of options and the juices are priced well, although not organic. The place is kinda hard to find so be in the lookout! I think our google maps directions led us astray. Def worth checkin out if your passing through or live in the area and looking for a quick juice stop.

Pittsburg, PA

Amazing Cafe– As the name states, this place is amazing! Amazing Cafe has a chill, casual atmosphere and the food is fantastic! It’s not what I would expect in Pittsburg but they really have a gem here. And the prices are totally reasonable for the level of quality and size of the portions.
I got the coconut curry with seasonal veggies and brown rice which was awesome, my buddy raved about his soup and alive salad. The juice and smoothie selection looks great as well.
They really have healthy vegan food right, very little emphasis on tofu/tempeh soy products, almost entirely gluten free, and tons of local ingredients. It’s my guess that you can’t go wrong at this spot.

Grand Rapids, MI

Sip Grand Rapids.jpg

Sip– Great to have an organic juice bar in Grand Rapids. This spot has a seriously great menu of juices and smoothies. They also have a few to go salads and prepared raw foods in the cooler. So many options at this spot make it hard to choose! I went with the acai bowl and the all vegi savory juice- does your mother know. The juice was amazing, acai bowl good but a little small for $10.
This place is definitely pricey, I wish I could order more stuff but my wallet held me back. Also they are slowww. Quality takes time, so it’s allgood but just be ready for a serious wait if there is a line.
All that being said, this spot is most definitely an awesome find. Plus I dig the funky furniture.

Chicago, IL

Urban Vegan-These guys do a nice job with this casual asian themed vegan spot in Chicago. The menu had a lot that looked good and I love that they had combo plate options, which included spring roll and salad for $12. I had the Spicy Eggplant dish with extra veggies and no tofu and it was great but really SPICY!! This eggplant had serious heat, I like spicy foods but I’d imagine some people would’ve sent that back and it would have been too much to handle. The lighting and decor is pretty bare bones and not much vibe but it still kinda works and we had a totally pleasant meal there. The turnaroud is pretty quick there as it was was full when we arrived but didn’t have to wait and the service was solid. Overall, a good option for vegan/healthy cuisine in Chicago.

Daily workout- I was lucky to link up with someone through tennisround and play tennis in Leahy park in Evanston. Free public courts. There were nice grass fields at the park to work out as well. Although located a bit outside Chicago, we stayed at a Holiday Inn in Skokie, not far from the park. FYI, that Holiday Inn in Skokie has a nice fitness center as well with cardio machines and weights.
